OYO President, Okonma, Others Sworn-in, Pledges To Discharge Responsibility With Integrity, Commitment

The newly sworn-in President of Okpanam Youth Organization (OYO), Comrade Fidelis Ogochukwu Okonma, has promised to serve the community with integrity, dedication and unwavering commitment towards the progress of the community.

Comrade Okonma  stated this at the palace of the Ugoani of Okpanam, HRM Dr Michael Mbanefo Ogbolu during the inauguration of the elected executive members of Okpanam Youth Organization.

Recall that the Ugoani of Okpanam also inaugurated Emeka Chidobi(Vice President); Fredrick Anyasi (Secretary); Jennifer Patrick (Treasurer); Osadebe Onyezobi (Financial Secretary); Victoria Nwanze (Assistant Secretary); Olise Onwuka (Organizing Secretary); Kenneth Obienyi (Provost); Ifeanyi Okafor (P.R.O); and Josephine Ijele (Welfare Secretary).

Speaking further, Comrade Okonma said that his administration would foster understanding between the older and the younger generations with a view to benefitting from the wisdom of their fathers and at the same time embrace the innovation of the youths for the greater good of the community.

Comrade Okonma, who stressed the need to guide the existing peace and unity in the community jealously, said that he would partner with the Ugoani -in-Council, traditional institutions and security agencies to ensure that peace remains the foundation of the community.

 

The OYO President noted that whenever there was any disagreements , such disagreements would be resolved through dialogue and mutual respect, adding that he would contribute meaningfully in building a community where safety and tranquility would allow every child to dream and every young person to thrive .

Comrade Okonma said that he would promote Inclusiveness across all quarters, genders and interests , assuring that all individuals from the various quarters in the community would have a voice and an opportunity under his leadership.

He expressed appreciation to the Ugoani -in-Council for their wisdom, guidance and confidence in the youths of Okpanam, just as he lauded the youths for their support, energy and aspirations.

While describing their youths as talented, resourceful and ambitious, Comrade Okonma reiterated that his administration would pursue skills development, entrepreneurship, education for the youths and legitimate opportunities that would uplift their lives.

He said that his administration would partner with government, well meaning individuals and organizations to create jobs , empower young entrepreneurs and improve the living standards of the community.

Earlier, the Ugoani of Okpanam Kingdom, HRM Dr. Michael Mbanefo Ogbolu identified discipline as a veritable ingredient for success in any society and implored the newly inaugurated executive members of Okpanam Youth Organization to imbibe  discipline at all times.

He recalled that Caretaker Committee was put in place by the Ugoani -in-Council to midwife the emergence of the newbreed Okpanam Youth Organization on April 17, 2026, which conducted the election on Saturday, June 13, 2026.

The traditional ruler informed the newly inaugurated OYO executive members that their tenure be four years effective today when they were sworn-in and commended the caretaker committee led by Chief Nnanyem Ogwuda, Mazi III of Okpanam and his team got their professionalism, dexterity and commitment which they deployed to midwife the conduct of the election.
