Billboards Erection: Sapele Legislative Arm Warns Against Use Of Substandard Materials

The Legislative Arm of Sapele Local Government Area of Delta State, has warned against the persistent use of substandard materials in erecting signboards across the local government.
Arising from their seating which was presided over by the Leader of the Legislative Arm, Rt. Hon. Samuel Azu, the councilors said that the call had become necessary in order to put a stop to carefree attitudes of some individuals who have the habit of using substandard materials for their jobs.

On his part, the Chairman of the Committee on Signage/Billboards and Advertisement, Hon. Christopher Ayomanor , who is the councillor representing ward 5 in his submission, said that if such materials were left unchecked to ascertain their quality before being used to erect the billboards,it could pose serious safety risk .
In his remarks, Hon. Osaretin Aisien implored every Honourable member to strengthen the operations of the House Committees for improved legislative effectiveness.
The House later took a unanimous resolution to invite the Chairman of the Signage/Billboards Board to appear before it in their next seating for strategic enhancement.
