Odashidiolu Installed Diokpa-Isi of Ogbeosadi Village, Okpanam

A nonagenarian and peace advocate, Diokpa Robert Odashidiolu, has assumed leadership of Ogbeosadi village in Obodogwugwu quarter, Okpanam, Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State with his official coronation as their Diokpa-Isi (oldest man).
Recall that Okpanam community practices gerontocracy, a system that recognizes seniority and with the official Installation of Elder Odashidiolu, he is their head of Ogbeosadi community.
Addressing his kinsmen at his Ogbeosadi residence, Diokpa Odashidiolu, who described his installation ceremony as a moment of joy, promised to operate inclusive governance and carry his people along in the scheme of things.
Diokpa Odashidiolu reiterated that he had been in the forefront for equity, fairness, Inclusiveness , transparency and accountability in the community, assuring that under his leadership, Ogbeosadi village would have course to smile again, live and love one another as brothers and sisters.
He said that he always derives his happiness from maintaining his truthfulness and his philosophy of equity and fairness, noting that there was need for more unity in the community in order to attract meaningful socioeconomic development.
In his remarks, a frontline youth leader in the community and one of the ardent supporters of Diokpa Odashidiolu, Comrade Friday Kenneth Okolo stated that the celebrant was a man of integrity, whose inclusive leadership style would shape the growth of the community.
Comrade Okolo recalled that he had worked closely with their new Diokpa-Isi before, describing him as a team player who was irrevocably committed to achieving any course that he believed would impact on his people no matter the circumstances and challenges he might face.
He stated that the installation of Elder Odashidiolu as the Diokpa-Isi of Ogbeosadi would bring unity to the village, emphasizing that their new leader has the fear of God in everything he does.
Earlier , Mrs. Joy Okolo , while recalling how her late husband, Diokpa Stephen Okolo and Diokpa Odashidiolu lived in Enugu and loved each other very well as brothers, she said that the celebrant was a peace lover, unassuming and kind-hearted man.
In their separate remarks, some children of the celebrant including Mr. Chinedu Odashidiolu, Mr. Onukutalalibi Patrick Odashidiolu and Mrs. Ebele Ikenwe (nee Odashidiolu) said that their father was a very peaceful and easy going person and expressed optimism that under his reign, Ogbeosadi would be more united .
They said that they were happy to witness the joyous moment where their father ascends to the throne of the leadership of the community despite the challenges he encountered in the past, noting that the good Lord would use him to unite Ogbeosadi properly.
The children , however, appealed to the people of Ogbeosadi community to cooperate with their father and support his government to enable him succeed.
The ceremony was attended by notable personalities including Chief Chibueze Pino Aniemeka, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Youth Leader, Comrade Christopher Agali , the immediate past President-General of Okpanam Youth Organization, Comrade Lucky Anthony Okolo and Chief Sunday Nwanze among others.
