2027: Elders Movement Of Okpanam Promises Support For APC Candidates

A Chieftain of the rulling All Progressives Congress in Oshimili North and Chairman of Elders Movement of Okpanam, Chief Dana Gideon Mokogwu, has assured all APC candidates that emerged from the just concluded primaries of the unwavering support the group by campaigning vigorously for them ahead of the 2027 election.
Chief Mokogwu , a philanthropist and  renowned community leader in the community, made the disclosure in Okpanam, Oshimili North Local Government Area of the State during their monthly meeting.

He said that Elders Movement was formed to foster unity among the APC elders in Okpanam and to specifically support the party candidates to ensure victory in the forthcoming election for the party as well as take Okpanam politics to greater heights.
Chief Mokogwu , however, urged the candidates to prioritize the development of Okpanam and welfare of  members of the Elders Movement of Okpanam through empowerment and other benefits, and reiterated his group's commitment and sacrifice to ensure the success of the party during the election.
The Elders Movement chairman stated that the elders were in a better position to convince people to vote for candidates  they had chosen, stressing their wives, children and tenants easily go with them hence the need for  the leaders of the party and candidates to carry them in the scheme of things.
Chief Mokogwu  said that the group was always at the forefront of the party activities, noting that elders are almost the largest of the voting population .

He explained that the former Secretary to the State Government (SSG) and two-time Commissioner in the State and now the Director-General of the Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency, , Chief Patrick Ukah has continued to attract development and recognition to Okpanam community.
Chief Mokogwu described Ukah as a visionary leader, who had been giving the community political direction, emphasizing that he formed the Elders Movement to support and strengthen Chief Ukah's quest for the upliftment of the community.

He implored members of the Elders Movement to be focused, committed and resilient and ensure that the objective of establishing the group was achieved successfully, just as he renewed the call for support from government and political leaders.

On the APC primaries, Chief Mokogwu asserted that the process was not only  peaceful but the outcomes reflected the expectations of the people including himself and members of the Elders Movement, urging the candidates of the party that to whom "much is given, much is expected".
