NGO Seeks Support For Healthcare Facilities In Delta

The Delta State Chairman of Civil Society in Malaria Control , Immunization and Nutrition (ACOMIN) , Pastor Gregory Sifo, has underscored the importance of collaboration in ensuring that healthcare facilities are given the necessary support in order to ensure optimum service delivery.
Sifo stated this in Asaba during the Quarterly Coordination Meeting with various partners and Community Based Organizations(CBOs).
He implored communities to take ownership of healthcare facilities in their areas to avoid unnecessary deterioration of their services.
Sifo disclosed that the Principal Recipient of the Global Fund for the malaria project had been changed, adding that the new Principal Recipient is the IHVN (Institute of Human Virology Nigeria) and commended the CBOs for their dedication to duty, just as he stated that their efforts contributed to the success stories of ACOMIN.
Earlier, the State Program Officer of ACOMIN, Sir Austin Uwede enjoined the CBOs to improve on the quality of their report writing and adhere to the timeline set for the submission of their reports and ensure that they make use of the right templates for their reports.
Uwede informed the CBOs that as part of measures for the commencement of ACOMIN malaria activities this year, four advocacy visits to various stakeholders had been carried out.
In their various goodwill messages, the Director of Planning, Research and Statistics in the Delta State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr. Charles Eboka, representative of the Management Sciences for Health, Mr. Raymond Emeto , the State Coordinator of TB Network, Mr. Onyekwu Chiedozie, Mr. Christopher Ogberetinor, NEPWHAN state Coordinator, and the State Malaria Program Manager, Ministry of Health, Dr. Mrs. Julie Aniah, represented by Joy Dibashi appreciated ACOMIN for their impact in the Public Healthcare Centres (PHCs) across the State.
Dr. Eboka revealed that the State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori had approved the commencement of the renovation of 120 PHCs in the State for better healthcare service delivery.
Emeto, who explained that the Management Science for Health provides support to PHCs for malaria commodities, urged individuals with symptoms of ailments to always go for test to be able to ascertain the kind of sickness and know the right treatment to apply.
On his part, Chiedozie emphasized the need for integration of all diseases areas such as malaria, TB and HIV/AIDS to any health outreaches they embark on from time to time .
