Ayomanor Gives Reason Why He May Contest 2027 Governorship Position.
For a Transformed and Globally Competitive Delta State: I Will Contest for Governor in 2027 Unless My Elder Brother, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, Continues His Transformational Path — Dcn. Evang. Jehoiakim Ayomanor
With two decades of experience in Delta State politics, I, Dcn. Evang. Jehoiakim Ayomanor, am prepared to serve as Governor in 2027, guided by integrity, service, and a commitment to transformation.
Although I was denied the Chairmanship position in 2024, when no party primaries were conducted in Sapele Local Government, and during previous councilorship contests, where primaries were held but I was instructed to step down, I have remained committed to public service and principled leadership.
My political journey has never been a do-or-die affair, and I believe leadership must always reflect maturity, restraint, and dedication to the greater good.
I have been in the corridor of Delta State politics for two decades, gaining deep understanding of our political landscape, our people, and the dynamics that shape governance and development within the State.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Administration, am NEBOSH-certified (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health), an Expert in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) including grievance mechanisms, peacebuilding, negotiation, and mediation, and a former Community Liaison Officer to Seplat Energy.
I serve as Director in partnership with two NGOs, one empowering widows through monthly welfare programs, which started with 10 beneficiaries in 2022 and now reaches 20 widows every month, and another supporting hundreds of less privileged children, including single mothers, providing care and opportunities. Some of these children have been supported from infancy until today, with full scholarships in private schools, while brilliant students without sponsors have been assisted through JAMB form purchases to access higher education. I have evidence for all these interventions, demonstrating transparency and accountability.
I currently serve as Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Sapele Okpe Community, and I am pursuing my MSc in Global Business Management at the University of East Anglia, Norwich, United Kingdom.
The only condition under which I may step aside from contesting against my elder brother from Okpe Local Government, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, the incumbent Governor, is if he continues and significantly improves upon his transformational path for the good of Delta State.
*My Vision for Delta State*
Massive Infrastructure Development: Roads, bridges, schools, hospitals, and energy infrastructure to accelerate growth.
Economic Growth & Job Creation: Attracting global chains of business and industries to absorb the growing unemployed population. Employment will arrest restiveness, instill discipline, and reduce insecurity.
Proven Political Experience: Two decades of engagement at local and state levels.
Global & Local Expertise: Education and professional experience bridge international best practices with local realities.
Humanitarian Commitment: Long-term, evidence-backed support for widows, less privileged children, single mothers, and brilliant students, demonstrating compassion and accountability.
Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) & Peacebuilding: Expertise in grievance mechanisms, negotiation, mediation, and peacebuilding ensures inclusive, fair, and harmonious governance.
Community Engagement: PRO role reflects strong grassroots connection and communication.
Delta State needs leadership that combines experience, vision, humanitarian service, and global perspective — qualities I have cultivated over my career and life.
