The Chief Executive Officer of Edward Ederaine Global Foundation, Okakuro Edward Ederaine, has paid a courtesy visit to the Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Senator Ede Dafinone, at his Sapele residence to brief him on his recent educational intervention in Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State and to solicit further support for the initiative.

During the visit, Ederaine informed Senator Dafinone of the computers he personally donated to pupils of Umiaghwa Primary School in Okpe as part of his efforts to promote and facilitate learning in the area. The philanthropist explained that his intervention was driven by a desire to bridge the digital divide in rural communities and equip young learners with the tools necessary to thrive in a technology-driven world.
“I believe that every child, regardless of location, deserves access to modern learning facilities. The donation of these computers is a step towards preparing the next generation for global competitiveness. However, we can achieve more if we work together,” Ederaine said.

He appealed to Senator Dafinone to complement his efforts by providing additional computers and ICT resources for the school and other underserved communities within Delta Central.
Responding, Senator Dafinone commended Ederaine for his commitment to educational development and grassroots empowerment. The lawmaker noted that such private sector interventions complement government efforts in improving the standard of education in the country.

“Your gesture is highly commendable, and I must thank you for identifying such a critical area of need in our community. Education remains a priority, and technology is the future. I will explore ways to support this vision so we can scale it to benefit more schools and communities,” Dafinone assured.

The Senator, who has been noted for his pro-people initiatives and community engagement, reiterated his resolve to run an open-door policy and maintain accessibility to constituents and stakeholders interested in contributing to the district’s development.

Ederaine, whose foundation has been active in several humanitarian interventions across Delta State, expressed optimism that the collaboration with Senator Dafinone would yield tangible results.

“It is refreshing to meet a public servant who listens and takes genuine interest in grassroots needs. Senator Dafinone’s openness and accessibility are remarkable, and I am confident that together we can make lasting impact,” Ederaine added.

The Edward Ederaine Global Foundation has in recent years embarked on several projects aimed at improving education, health, and youth development in Delta communities. The foundation’s ICT push aligns with the broader agenda of improving literacy and digital skills among rural pupils.

The meeting ended on a positive note with both men agreeing to explore more areas of collaboration for the benefit of Delta Central Senatorial District.
