Sapele Council Chairman, Abeke, Bags Award of Excellence from NADEMS

The Chairman of Sapele Local Government Area, Hon. Bright Abeke, has expressed his commitment to youth empowerment and healthcare development, as he played host to the National Executive Council of the National Association of Delta State Medical and Dental Students (NADEMS) at his office on Monday 26th May, 2025.
The Council boss, who received the visiting delegation at the Sapele Council Secretariat, commended the medical students for their efforts in championing healthcare advocacy and educational advancement across the state. He described their visit as both timely and inspiring.
While receiving the Award of Excellence presented by the association, Hon. Abeke said, “I am deeply honoured to receive this award from NADEMS. It is not just a recognition, but a challenge to do more for our young people and the healthcare sector. We understand the importance of investing in human capital, especially in a critical field like medicine. This administration will continue to support initiatives that promote education, health, and youth empowerment.”
The Chairman reaffirmed his administration’s readiness to collaborate with student and professional bodies in improving service delivery in the local government, particularly in the areas of public health and grassroots medical outreach.
He added, “Our youths are the strength of our tomorrow. By supporting students like you, we are laying a solid foundation for a healthier and more prosperous Delta State.”
Earlier in his remarks, the President of the National Association of Delta State Medical and Dental Students, Comrade Ameye Kenneth, applauded Hon. Abeke for what he termed “a legacy of responsive leadership and developmental strides” in Sapele LGA.
According to Comrade Ameye, “We are here today to honour a man who has shown uncommon dedication to the advancement of youth and education. Hon. Abeke is a friend of NADEMS and a supporter of medical students across the state. His commitment to excellence in governance is commendable, and this award is our way of appreciating his good work.”
He further stated that the association looked forward to future collaboration with the Council in areas such as medical outreach programs, health awareness campaigns, and policy advocacy for youth-friendly healthcare systems.
