SIFO UNDERSCORES IMPORTANCE OF EDUCATION, SAYS IT IS BEDROCK OF PROGRESSIVE SOCIETY

The President of Class '87 of Nana College, Warri, Pastor Greg Sifo has described education as the bedrock of any progressive society, saying it empowers individuals, fosters innovation and drives economic and social growth.
Pastor Sifo made the assertion in Warri during the official inauguration of a 2.4 KVA solar pumping machine and surface pump donated to Nana College, Warri by the '87 set of the school.
He stated that by investing in education they were not only shaping the future of the younger minds but also building a resilient and self -sufficient community, adding that the value of education extended beyond the classroom as it would nurture leadership, instill discipline and create limitless opportunities.
While urging the school to put the water facility into good use and ensure effective maintenance in order for it to continue to serve the purpose for which it was donated, Pastor Sifo noted that the Class '87 decided to donate the facilities so as to make the school conducive for students to learn .
He explained that the state government alone may not be able to provide the needs of the people, hence the need for well-meaning individuals and organizations to complement the effort of government by giving back to the society.
Pastor Sifo emphasized that the donation of the water facility to the school was part of their commitment to making the school conducive for the students to learn and enjoined them to take their studies seriously.
Earlier in their goodwill messages, the Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area,. Hon. Agbeteyiniro Weyinmi, who was represented by the Supervising Councillor for Agriculture in the council, Hon. Amiwe Mofe , the Olugbo of Warri Kingdom Chief Samuel Koko Omebeyinje, who represented the Ologbotsere of Warri Kingdom, Chief Oma Eyewuoma, and the Principal of the school, Mrs. Bridget Neyin Madamedon commended the Class ' 87 of the school for the gesture.
Speaking further, Mrs. Madamedon said that their Initiative to provide the solar water system was not just an investment in infrastructure but an investment in the future of the students and the development of the school.
She stated that with the installation of the solar system, the school would have a more reliable and sustainable source of energy to ensure that water supply, learning materials and academic activities were not interrupted and appealed for more support to enable the school provide doors/burglary proofs in both the male and female hostels as well as solar to power their hall for prep .
In their remarks, some members of 87 Class of the school including Engr.(Dr.) Justus Nnamdi and Sandra Regbe Oghenekevwe told the children that their success today was as a result of the discipline and solid foundation they were exposed to during their time in the school and admonished them to dedicate their time in building their future.
