JARO EGBO RECEIVES COMMISSIONER FOR LOCAL GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS ON WORKING VISITS..

.. As the Council Chairman took the Commissioner on projects inspection tour around the LGA..

The Executive Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government Council, Olorogun (Barr) Movudu Egbo Ksc, received the Delta State Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon (Prince) Kelly Kalanama Penewou and his team on a working visit to Ughelli North Local Government Council.
The Council Chairman, Barr Jaro Egbo and his team of council officials were on ground to give a warm reception to the Commissioner and his team, welcoming them to Ughelli North Local Government Area.
Highlights of the visit was the inspection of all the official Vehicles, various offices and departments of the council, thereafter, proceeded on inspection of the proposed site for the building of a New Ultra Modern Secretariat in the council..
Immediately after inspecting the projects at the council premises, the Council Chairman took the Commissioner and his team to inspect other projects outside the secretariat, including the building of the cottage maternity home, road maintenance/ repairs embark on by the council Chairman, and ongoing fencing of the security quarters at the government Housing Estate and among others..

The commissioner who was pleased with the level of work and projects executed by the Council Chairman, commended him for tirelessness effort in ensuring that the MORE AGENDA of his Excellency, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, the Governor of Delta State, is replicated in Ughelli North Local Government Area, appealing to him to continue his good works..

DTSG Shifts BECE , Reschedules Examinations Commencement Date To  Monday, June 16 By Magnus Emuji  The 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) , earlier scheduled to begin from June 9 to June 13 for both public and private secondary schools in Delta State has been shifted to a new date . A statement from the Functioning Permanent Secretary in Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Mr. Daniel Akiri, on behalf of the State Commissioner for Secondary Education, Mrs. Rose Ezewu said that the would now commence from June 16 to June 20. He explained that the shifting of the examination to a new date was occasioned by the  federal government declaration of public holidays on June 6 and June 9 respectively to mark Eid-ul-Adha  and Democracy Day celebration on June 12. Edwin Clark dies at 97 Former Federal Commissioner for Information and South-South Leader, Edwin Clark, is de@d. According to a statement released by his family, the chairman of the Pan Niger Delta Forum, PANDEF died on Monday night,February 17. He was 97 years old.  The statement read,  “The Clark-Fuludu Bekederemo family of Kiagbodo Town, Delta State, wishes to announce the passing of Chief (Dr.) Sen. Edwin Kiagbodo Clark OFR, CON on Monday 17th February , 2025.’’ Born in Kiagbodo, in the Ijaw area of what is now Delta State, late Clark attended primary and secondary schools at Effurun, Okrika and Afugbene before completing further studies at the Government Teacher Training College, which later became Delta State University, Abraka. Thereafter, he worked briefly as a school teacher before traveling abroad to earn a law degree.
