Earlier today, the 28th of November 2024, a delegation of Anglican faithfuls in Udu paid a courtesy visit to the office of the Executive Chairman of Udu Local Government Council, Olorogun (Hon.) Vincent Ogheneruemu Oyibode, JP FCIA, at the Council's Headquarters in Otor-Udu, to discuss the creation of a proposed new Diocese.

Speaking on behalf of the group, Ven. Dr. C. Badawosi (JP), emphasized the group's desire for the creation of a proposed Anglican Diocese of Udu. He noted that the proposed diocese would unify Anglican churches in Udu Kingdom under one umbrella, with its headquarters at All Saints Chapel, Steel Town 1, Orhuwhorun Community, branching out from the existing Anglican Diocese of Ughelli.

Ven. Badawosi passionately appealed to the Council Chairman, Olorogun Oyibode, for his generous support towards the fundraising efforts. “We are here today to humbly solicit your contribution towards this noble cause. We strongly believe that with your support and leadership, our application for the creation of the new diocese will receive the attention it deserves. The body of Christ is one, and this project will foster greater unity and growth within Udu LGA,” he said.

In his response, Olorogun Oyibode warmly welcomed the delegation, expressing his gratitude for their visit and commending their commitment to the growth of the Anglican Communion. He pledged to support their vision and assured them of his willingness to contribute towards the realization of the proposed diocese. “The creation of a new diocese will undoubtedly promote spiritual growth and development in Udu Kingdom. As the Chairman of Udu Local Government Council, I am committed to supporting initiatives that foster unity and progress,” Oyibode remarked.
