The Bright Afure Abeke led administration marked a significant milestone on Monday, October 28th, 2024 with the groundbreaking ceremony for its ultra modern motor park located at Reclamation road, Sapele local government area.
The ceremony which was performed by Olorogun Dr. Barr. Kingsley Esiso, witness large turn out of dignitaries, party faithful, friends, staff of council amongst whom are; "Okakuro Perkins Umukoro, Member representing Sapele constituency at the Delta State House Of Assembly, Okakuro Julius Egbedi, Member representing Sapele, Okpe and Ethiope West Local government areas on the Board of DESOPADEC, Hon Francis Okpigben, Chief Godwin Dadi, Chief Godwin Edeki, Chief Benson Okorodudu, Hon Raymond Overah, Secretary to council, Prince Joseph Atseyinku, Hon Henry Ebireri, serving councillors, supervisory councillors etc.
Speaking during the ceremony Barr Kingsley Esiso, recalled his fond memories of using the Reclamation Park during his days at the University of Benin, praising the Sapele council boss, Hon Bright Abeke, for initiating the ultra-modern motor park project, which he described as a landmark initiative that would bring about businesses and connect Sapele to various transport routes in the country.
"I am very happy that Mr Chairman has decided to build an ultra-modern park that will bring about businesses, development and connect people to various transport route in the country".
Speaking further, Barr Esiso, commended Hon Abeke for starting the project, which he believed would be a legacy project to his administration.
Hon Bright Abeke on his part, thanked the people of Sapele for their unalloyed support for his administration, expressing gratitude to Barr Kingsley Esiso for honouring the event, and highlighting the significance of the project, which would not only connect Sapele to various transport routes in the country but also provide economic opportunities for the people.
As part of the ceremony, men and women from the various wards in Sapele receive cash gifts of ₦100,000 each to boost their businesses, a gesture that was seen as a demonstration of Hon Bright Abeke's commitment to empowering women, men, enhancing life and promoting economic development in Sapele Local Government Area.
The event was a success, beneficiaries who could not bottle their joy thanked the Sapele council boss for the cash gifts, saying it would go a long way especially in a time as this when the cost of living is so high.
Other dignitaries present at the ceremony include Hon Mrs Dora Aweto, Vice Chairman of Sapele LGA, Hon. Vincent Ayomanor, former vice chairman Sapele local government council Rt Hon Azu Samuel, Leader of the Sapele Legislative Arm, Hon Eguonor Ejokpaoghene, Deputy Leader of the Legislative House amongst other dignitaries.
