In demonstration of their motherly love and appreciation to the Rector, Delta State Polytechnic, Otefe-Oghara, Prof Emmanuel Ufuophu-Biri for the good work he's doing in the Polytechnic, Otefe Community Women (Eghweya) on Thursday 25th September, 2024 presented food items to the Rector.
The event which has become a culture and annual ritual is a moment by the women of Otefe community to appreciate the Chief Executive Officer of the Polytechnic with produce from their farms.
The women stated that despite the harsh economic situation bedeviling the country, they are not deterred in bringing food to their son who within two years of assuming office has transformed the Polytechnic. The Eghweya informed the Rector of their unalloyed support to his administration and ceaselessly offered prayers of good health and longevity for him.
The Rector, Prof Emmanuel Ufuophu-Biri thanked the women for the selfless gestures.
The Rector assured the Eghweya of his commitment towards developing the Polytechnic within available resources. Prof Biri equally prayed for the Otefe Community Women Group that their children will always remember them, noting that they will never struggle to feed or train their children.
The event coincided with the Bishop of Anglican Communion, Sapele Diocese, Bishop Blessing A. Erifeta visit to the Rector. The Bishop prayed for the Polytechnic, the Rector, Staff, Students and Otefe Community.
