Olorogun Jaro Egbo Embarks on Inspection Tour to Ughelli Urban Markets

Ughelli North Council Chairman, Hon. Chief Barr. Jaro Movudu Egbo (KSC), visited the three major markets in Ughelli urban metropolis on July 17, 2024, to assess market conditions and identify areas for council intervention.

At the Ughelli Main Market, the President General of Otor-Iwhreko community, Engr David Omotor, welcomed the Chairman and his entourage and showed him around. The PG highlighted potential expansion areas to accommodate more traders. Barr. Jaro Egbo Ksc expressed displeasure at traders operating along the tarred road and median barrier/pedestrian lane, stressing the need to clear the area before July month-end.

At Otovwodo Market, the Chairman inspected structures and land, discovering unapproved buildings on canals. He ordered their removal to ensure water flow. He discussed with market women leaders, promising to build more stores to encourage them to leave the tarred road.

The visit concluded at the Ughelli/Ogor Ultra Modern Market, built by the state government. The Chairman thanked the Ughelli and Ogor kingdoms for their cooperation and assured the public that the market would be operational soon. He encouraged traders, especially market women, to secure lock-up stores or land spaces at the modern market, predicting it would become one of the busiest in Ughelli North.

The Chairman was accompanied by his Amiable wife, Chief Mrs Vivian Erhuwvu Egbo, the Vice Chairman, Chief Mrs Meg Atano, Hon Prince Elvis Oharisi, Hon Oke Umurhohwo, Comr Lucky Ofomukoro, the UPU Youth Wing President worldwide, Activist Ughere Blessed, Mr Godfrey Esiada (CSO to the Chairman) among others..

Edwin Clark dies at 97 Former Federal Commissioner for Information and South-South Leader, Edwin Clark, is de@d. According to a statement released by his family, the chairman of the Pan Niger Delta Forum, PANDEF died on Monday night,February 17. He was 97 years old.  The statement read,  “The Clark-Fuludu Bekederemo family of Kiagbodo Town, Delta State, wishes to announce the passing of Chief (Dr.) Sen.
