Delta Gears up For Battle:Oborevwori Vows To Combat Flood Menace.
Delta State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) in collaboration with the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has organized a one day stakeholders forum on sensitization and public awareness campaign on proper waste management and flood preparedness.
The Honorable Commissioner Bureau For Special Duties, Etacherure Ejiro Terry, welcomed all stakeholders to the workshop, commending the efforts of the various agencies for organizing the forum to enable stakeholders deliberate on the issues concerning the prediction of the 2024 flood.
Etacherure further applauded H.E Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Oborevwori for his relevant efforts in mitigating the effects of the predicted flood by not only setting up a State Flood Management Committee, but have also implemented various preventive measures to minimize the aftermath effect as well as preparations of various IDPs camps across the state.
The Bureau Commissioner however praised Governor Oborevwori for his proactive approach to mitigating flash flood impacts,demonstrates a commitment to prioritizing public safety and well-being of all Deltans by investing in early warning systems, infrastructure development, public awareness, emergency preparedness, and collaborative response efforts. He urged deltans not be scared as the government has taken crucial steps to reduce the aftermath of floods and protect its citizens.
