8th Legislative Arm: Eguonor Ejokpaoghene emerges as Deputy Leader of the House.

On Tuesday, July 16th, 2024 marked a fresh page for legislative history as Eguonor Ejokpaoghene, the Honourable Councillor representing the good people of ward 3 in Sapele Local Government Area of Delta State emerged as Deputy Leader of the House. 
Eguonor Ejokpaoghene emerged during the official swearing in ceremony of councillors by the Executive Chairman of Sapele Local Government Area, Hon. Okakuro Bright Afure Abeke, after a motion was moved by Hon Amugen Justice Okiemute, councillor ward 13 and was seconded by Hon Odiri Oba Justice, 
Councillor ward 10.
With a loud cheer of thunderous applauds, Eguonor Ejokpaoghene was adopted by all. 
Speaking to members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, from ward 3 on how they felt that the Deputy Leader of the House has emerged from their ward, here is what Mr Raymond and Mr Ese said; "We are not surprised that our councillor Hon. Eguonor Ejokpaoghene emerged has Deputy Leader of the House, Eguonor is one young politician that is generally accepted by everyone, because of his humble nature, he is down to earth, simple to understand and carries everyone along. 
We believe in his capacity to deliver more of the dividends of democracy to the people at ward the level. With Eguonor as the Deputy Leader of the House and Okakuro Bright Abeke as Executive Chairman, Ward 3 will shine brighter and they will receive more from the Governor Sheriff Oborevwori M.O.R.E agenda, they added.

Edwin Clark dies at 97 Former Federal Commissioner for Information and South-South Leader, Edwin Clark, is de@d. According to a statement released by his family, the chairman of the Pan Niger Delta Forum, PANDEF died on Monday night,February 17. He was 97 years old.  The statement read,  “The Clark-Fuludu Bekederemo family of Kiagbodo Town, Delta State, wishes to announce the passing of Chief (Dr.) Sen. Edwin Kiagbodo Clark OFR, CON on Monday 17th February , 2025.’’ Born in Kiagbodo, in the Ijaw area of what is now Delta State, late Clark attended primary and secondary schools at Effurun, Okrika and Afugbene before completing further studies at the Government Teacher Training College, which later became Delta State University, Abraka.
