Fun As Alfred Jonah International School Holds 2nd Inter-House Sports Competition.

To boost students competitive spirit and nurture talents, Alfred Jonah International School, Sapele, Delta State, has held it's 2nd edition of its yearly Inter-House Sport competition at the Sapele township Stadium on Thursday, March 7th, 2024.
The Proprietor, Engr. Friday Jonah Imuzeze while speaking to Sapele Mirror news crew said, "Inter -House Sport is one event that the students/pupils always looked forward to. It is an opportunity for them to exhibit their talent in sporting activities.
Speaking further, Engr. Jonah said "we are really keen about our students standing out wherever they find themselves. The essence of holding a yearly Inter-House Sport is to catch them young, introduce them to various sporting activities.
The State Government through the ministry of sports has made it compulsory for all school to hold inter-house sport activities yearly. Sports help to keep the children fit. Young talents are discovered during inter-house sports competition.
To uncover more talents, he stressed the need for the country to always celebrate sport talents and support them to build on their own skill. Our school is devoted to grooming talents not only academically, but also in sport. During the inter-house sport competition talented athletes are picked Engr. Jonah said.
Mrs Sandra, a parent said, she was very elated seeing the children participate in the school inter-house sport "it is really awesome seeing the children happy and competing against each other in a friendly manner.
At the end of the inter-sport competition, Blue house won the first position overall, while Red house came second and Yellow House clichéd the third place.
Mrs Tony Aniretan, patron of Blue house, with excitement commended the children's effort, saying that they did not only come first in the over all inter-house sport competition, but also in the secondary March pass, female cycling, and other sporting activities.
She commended the school for hosting the inter-house sports competition and the teachers who took time to coach the children, saying that their training paid off.
Mrs Jolomi Brown Boyo, patron of red house said that the school is particular about nurturing talents and providing them the platform to shine, even on International stage.
The event was attended by top government functionaries amongst whom are; Hon. (Dr) Okakuro Eugene Okpeh Inoaghan, Hon Austine Ayemidejor, Hon Vincent Ayomanor, Mrs Feldman Edijana.
Also to grace the event was Mr and Mrs Tony Aniretan, patron of Blue house, Mr and Mrs Jolomi Brown Boyo, patron of red house, Mr Yekini A. Sarafa, patron of Green house and Mr Ifeanyi Nwankwo a.k.a Pablo, patron of Yellow house.
The event was also attended by parents who watched as their kids participated in track and field events, ball games, volley ball, march pass, sack race, lime and spoon race, fill in the bottle race, cycling race, relay race, table tennis, chess, scrabble, badminton and monopoly.
