The Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) in Sapele Local Government Area of Delta State, has on Friday Presented an Award of Excellence to the Sapele Local Government Chairman, Hon Chief Eugene Okpeh Inoaghan, for the successful completion of his tenure.
The elaborate ceremony which took place at the Local Government Council Secretariat at Yoruba road Sapele, saw various dignitaries and religious fathers as Awards were presented by various departments to Hon Chief Eugene Inoaghan for his outstanding performance and achievement as chairman in Sapele Local Government.
Speaking during the ceremony, comrade Mrs Mercy Ejiro Igeyen, the NULGE chairman Sapele describe Chief Eugene Inoaghan as “our very own who has made all Okpe sons and daughters proud,” adding that staffs of the local government decided to celebrate him because he has done excellently well.
Also describing Inoaghan as an Excellent man, Mrs Igeyen explained how Inoaghan visited members who were sick in their homes with supportive envelopes.
“Our serious worry now that you are about to leave us is, who would be worthy and capable to wear this big shoe that you are going to leave behind? Who would be able to measure up or beat this fantastic record of yours,” she said, while thanking those that have come to celebrate with them.
In his remark, the Chairman of Sapele Local Government, Hon Chief Eugene Inoaghan, accompanied by his wife, Chief Mrs Elizabeth Inoaghan, Thanked nulge for their amazing support, time, information and advice, adding that the success they have was as a result of their support and devotion to the betterment of the local government.
“I thank the Councillors, leaders of our great party, NULGE, the chairman of NULGE, Mrs Igeyen, I call her a man for taking this council to a greater height, the staffs of council you are good, thank you for the awards and the gifts, I didn’t expect this. The money that came to the council is for the local government, if I didn’t invest well, I will be held accountable,” he said.
He also thanked the immediate past Governor of Delta State Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa and the present Governor of Delta State, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori for their support.
