Perkins Umukoro Distributes Wrappers to Women in Sapele Constituency, Earns Commendations

Sapele - In a heartfelt display of generosity and festive spirit, The Honourable Member Representing Sapele Constituency at the Delta State House of Assembly, Chief Perkins Awolowo Umukoro, Chief Whip of the House, has distributed wrappers to over 500 women across the eleven wards of Sapele Local Government Area. The distribution ceremony took place on Friday, December 22nd, 2023 at his constituency office along Okpe road in Sapele local government area of Delta State.
Hon. Umukoro, while personally handing out the beautifully crafted wrappers to the women, said that, "this act of kindness has become a yearly tradition".  Speaking accordingly, he said; "I have been doing this for the past five years, giving out clothes to our mothers, sisters and daughters. It's just a way to say thank you and Merry Christmas to the people of my constituency". He further emphasized that this gesture was inclusive of all women, regardless of their political party affiliations. He also announced his plans to appreciate the men in his constituency on December 23rd, 2023 and distribute Christmas gifts to both sex on Sunday, December 24th, 2023.
During the distribution event, Hon. Umukoro took a moment to commend His Excellency, Rt Hon. Sheriff Oborewori, Executive Governor of Delta Statethe, for his efforts in passing the new appropriation bill. He expressed his belief that this development would result in greater dividends of democracy for the people of Delta State.
In his address, Umukoro stated, "By January, we are going to witness massive infrastural development and growth as well as the dividends of democracy in Sapele constituency. I am assuring Sapele constituents that from January, they're going to feel the state's presence in Sapele". He also expressed confidence in Governor Oborewori's commitment to the MORE agenda. 
He further stated that, "The governor is somebody who is prepared to do more for Deltans. And I want to assure Sapele people that they are going to feel his presence in January. There are a lot of laudable projects that will be coming to Sapele, he stated."

The distribution of wrappers to the women in Sapele constituency garnered praise from various individuals who commended Hon. Perkins Umukoro for his thoughtful gesture. Amongst those who spoke were Mrs. Jennifer Lawrence Adamukolo a beneficiary from Ward 5, who expressed her gratitude, saying, "We are truly blessed to have a representative like Chief Perkins Umukoro, who remembers us every year and shows his care and concern through such acts of kindness."
Similarly, Mrs Mary Ajami a resident of Ward 4 praised the Assembly Member's commitment to the welfare of the people. "Hon. Umukoro has consistently demonstrated his dedication to the well-being of our constituency. His annual distribution of clothes to women is a testament to his selfless service," he remarked.

PDP women leader, ward 3, Mrs Esther Igere highlighted the significance of the gesture, stating, "This act of kindness goes beyond politics. It shows that Perkins Umukoro values and appreciates the contributions of women in our community. We are truly grateful for his thoughtfulness."
As the distribution of wrappers to women in Sapele constituency continues, Hon. Perkins Umukoro's ongoing commitment to serving his constituents and fostering unity within the community is evident.
With the new appropriation bill in place, the people of Sapele eagerly await the positive impact it will bring under the leadership of Governor Elder Sheriff Oborewori.
