A community leader, Philanthropist, businessman and politician, Hon Chief Festus Akponofuo Pemu has been presented the prestigious Community Leadership award of the year by the Building Materials Community, Sapele Chapter.
The award, according to the Association recognizes his outstanding contributions as a community leader, philanthropist, and politician.

Hon Chief Festus Akponofuo Pemu has been an influential figure in Okpe Kingdom, known for his unwavering dedication to the welfare of the community. As a community leader, he has consistently worked towards the betterment of the people, addressing their needs and concerns with utmost sincerity.
His philanthropic endeavors have left an indelible mark on the lives of many individuals in Okpe Kingdom and Delta State as a whole. Through his generosity, Chief Festus Akponofuo Pemu has provided support and assistance to the less privileged, offering them hope and opportunities for a brighter future.
Moreover, Chief Festus Akponofuo Pemu's foray into politics has further amplified his impact on the community. He has utilized his political influence to champion the rights of the people and advocate for their interests at various levels of involvement, His commitment to good governance and development has earned him the respect and admiration of his constituents.
The Community Leadership Award, presented by Comrade Patrick Godwin Erhugba (Ikurusu 1), the President General of the Building Materials Community, is a testament to Chief Festus Akponofuo Pemu's exemplary leadership qualities and his dedication to the progress of Okpe Kingdom. The award ceremony, held on the 9th of December, 2023, was attended by prominent community members, political figures, and well-wishers.
In his acceptance speech, Chief Festus Akponofuo Pemu, who was ably represented by Mr Kenneth Adibor expressed his gratitude for the recognition and pledged to continue serving the community with unwavering commitment. Edwin Clark dies at 97 Former Federal Commissioner for Information and South-South Leader, Edwin Clark, is de@d. According to a statement released by his family, the chairman of the Pan Niger Delta Forum, PANDEF died on Monday night,February 17. He was 97 years old.  The statement read,  “The Clark-Fuludu Bekederemo family of Kiagbodo Town, Delta State, wishes to announce the passing of Chief (Dr.) Sen. Edwin Kiagbodo Clark OFR, CON on Monday 17th February , 2025.’’ Born in Kiagbodo, in the Ijaw area of what is now Delta State, late Clark attended primary and secondary schools at Effurun, Okrika and Afugbene before completing further studies at the Government Teacher Training College, which later became Delta State University, Abraka.
