Okpe Kingdom hosts maiden edition of festival of 9 lessons & carols.

His Royal Majesty, Major General Felix Mujakperuo, Cfr, mni, Orhue 1, Orodje of Okpe Kingdom in conjunction with Okpe Christian Assembly, the Spiritual Leader of Okpe Kingdom, His Royal Eminence, Archbishop Godday Iboyi (JP) has organized Okpe kingdom maiden edition of 9 lessons and carols with it's theme: Jesus is the reason for the season.

The grand ceremony witness prominent sons and daughters of Okpe kingdom who grace the glorious event to celebrate Jesus. 

The event was held at the Udogun Hall in Orerokpe, with the aim to bring Okpe sons and daughters of Christian belief together in unity, peace and love to commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ and spread the message of love and hope.

The festival of 9 lessons & Carol held on Monday 4th, December, 2023, started at about 11am with the marching in of His Royal Majesty, Okpe Christian Mass Choir singing melodious Christmas carols to the glory of God drew a significant crowd of attendees within and outside the kingdom.

The Festival of 9 Lessons Carol featured Reverend Dr. Collins Muwarure, the OCA-Amukpe District Chairman, as the guest speaker. Reverend Muwarure delivered an inspiring message centered around the biblical texts of Matthew 2:1-11 and Isaiah 9:6-7, highlighting the significance of Jesus Christ as the central figure of the season. His thought-provoking sermon resonated with the audience, emphasizing the importance of love, peace, and unity in society.

Melodious Christmas carols filled the air with joy and left the audience shouting hosanna to the king of kings. 

Addressing the gathering, Archbishop Godday Iboyi expressed his gratitude to all the attendees,  representatives of various chairmen, sons and daughters of Okpe origin. He emphasized the significance of the festival in fostering unity among the people of Okpe Kingdom and promoting the core values of Christianity. Archbishop Iboyi called on everyone present to embrace the message of love and extend goodwill to one another, not just during the festive season but throughout the year.

Archbishop Godday Iboyi commended His Royal Majesty for the initiative, recognizing the efforts of the Orodje and Okpe Christian Assembly Worldwide (O.CA) in organizing the Festival of 9 Lessons Carol.

The maiden edition of the Festival of 9 Lessons Carol in the Okpe Kingdom was a resounding success, leaving a lasting impact on the attendees. As the event concluded, the participants left with a renewed sense of joy, hope, and purpose, carrying the message of love and unity with them into their communities. The festival served as a reminder of the true essence of the season and the importance of embracing the teachings of Jesus Christ in our daily lives.
