National Butchers Union, Delta State Chapter Inaugurates Delta Central Exco.

The Delta State Chairman of National Union of Butchers of Nigeria, Chief Comrade Isaac O.K. Adidi has inaugurated the executive committee of the Delta Central Chapter on Tuesday, December 5th, 2023.
Members of the Exco were drawn from the eight local government areas which made up Delta Central with the position zone as follows; Chairman, Ughelli North, Deputy Chairman, Sapele, Secretary, Udu, Treasurer, Okpe, Financial Secretary, Ethiope East, Public Relation Officer, Ethiope West, Auditor, Ughelli South, and the position of the Woman Leader zoned to Uvwie. 
Comrade Sobotie Samuel from the Ughelli North axis emerged as Chairman, Comrade Omatseye Ewetan from Sapele was elected as Deputy Chairman, Comrade Joshua Idonor as secretary, with other members elected into key position.
The State Chairman Chief Comrade Isaac Adidi, while addressing news men said, "our union is saddled with the responsibility of creating unity and peace amongst butchers. The government is aware of our existence, as we have members in all the states and local government in Nigeria. 
In the same vein, the State Secretary, Comrade Lawrence Igberhi said, "our aim is to ensure that the public does not consume rotten meat that may pose threat to their health. We work with veterinarian to ensure that the meat are fit for human consumption before they are sold to the public. 
Speaking to newsmen, comrade Sobotie Samuel said, "I will ensure that the union is effective in Delta Central, I will work with chairmen of the various local government areas that makes up Delta Central to ensure that we get the required result. 
Another member who was newly inaugurated as the secretary comrade Joshua Idonor Onotakaruma said, "this inauguration ceremony is an eye opener, it is a start off operation of the National Union of Butchers. The union has been in existence for a long time and with the newly inaugurated excos for Delta Central, I am optimistic that we will make a difference, we will work in synergy with the state and other exco members from Delta South and North respectively to enable the union form a formidable force in the discharge of it's duties. We will do our best to carry the union to greater heights, he added.

Edwin Clark dies at 97 Former Federal Commissioner for Information and South-South Leader, Edwin Clark, is de@d. According to a statement released by his family, the chairman of the Pan Niger Delta Forum, PANDEF died on Monday night,February 17. He was 97 years old.  The statement read,  “The Clark-Fuludu Bekederemo family of Kiagbodo Town, Delta State, wishes to announce the passing of Chief (Dr.) Sen. Edwin Kiagbodo Clark OFR, CON on Monday 17th February , 2025.’’ Born in Kiagbodo, in the Ijaw area of what is now Delta State, late Clark attended primary and secondary schools at Effurun, Okrika and Afugbene before completing further studies at the Government Teacher Training College, which later became Delta State University, Abraka.
