Good road network is one of the key to sustainable development in any State, this statement in line with the MORE AGENDA of His Excellency, Rt Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori has facilitated the need for the construction of more roads in Ejenesan community. Chief London Owhofasa Akpanoko, the visioner, in partnership with Hon. Nelson Oghenedoro Owoso, Executive Chairman of Ethiope West Local Government Area in Delta State, the facilitator, & Chief Benson Okorodudu, Executive Assistant to Governor Sheriff, the motivator has began the opening of several roads in Ejenesan to link other communities in Delta State.
The roads will ease the movement of residents, commuters, goods across the various community linking Ejenesan. It will also help farmers in transporting their farm produce easily as vehicles can easily access their various farms to carry these goods to nearby town and accelerate development in the town.
The passion of Akpanoko, Owoso and Okorodudu to developing Idjerhe kingdom is evident in the time and financial effort that they have put in to kick start such massive project that will need support, adequate funding from the Delta State Government to complete.
"Speaking to news men during the road opening inspection, Chief Akpanoko London who is the visioner of the project said "it is a collective decision of the entire Ejenesan community. We in Ejenesa thought it imperative to open more roads in Ejenesa linking to other villages. We wrote to the Executive Chairman of Ethiope West LGA, Hon. Nelson oghenedoro owosu, he welcomed the idea and graciously approved it and we decided to open these road during the dry season. I am very happy today because three virgin roads linking one community to another has been opened. I am very happy that the Executive Chairman keyed into this idea. The people of Ejenesa are very happy and we are optimistic that the roads will be completed.
Hon. Nelson on his part said, "My administration is saddled with certain responsibilities, bringing the dividends of democracy to the people at the grass root is imperative, I saw the idea to open link roads in Ejenesa community as laudable and I keyed in. I must commend the people of Ejenesa community for their efforts, especially Chief London Akpanoko for his commitment to bringing meaningful development to his people.
He is taking part of the responsibilities to facilitate the project, I commend him and the entire leadership/people of Ejenesa. My administration will continue to support them, I have been able to go round the kilometres. if people are able to come up with laudable initiatives, the government will always be ready and willing to partner.
The resources at the local government level is limited, we don't have the financial capability to construct the roads, but we will do all within our reach to make the road motorable for the community.
The road will bring more development to Ejenesa and assist farmers to carry their goods easily, he added.
Chief Benson Okorodudu , the motivator who also spoke to news men said, " firstly, I want to commend Chief London Akpanoko, who is one of the brains behind this road project. "This is raw development, when you talk of development at the grass root level, this is what we are witnessing. The opening of more link roads will bring in more development to Ejenesa. These road will facilitate the building of companies, residential abode, and a whole lot.
The MORE AGENDA of His Excellency, talks about meaningful development and this is one of such development, he added.
