Building Material Traders Association honours Ikechukwu with Public Service Leadership award.

Building Material Traders Association has held its 32nd anniversary and held it's maiden award of excellence ceremony for outstanding humanitarian works to honour some individual. 

The event was held at the Sapele Okpe Community Hall, Olympia, Sapele local government area of Delta State. 

According to the organisers, the award presentation is to honour and spur individuals who have distinguished themselves in their field of endeavor to do more.

Chief Ikechukwu Nwankwo, CEO IK motor was honoured with a "Public Service Leadership award" for the year 2023, in recognition for his immense work to the growth and development of society. 

Speaking, Chief Ikechukwu Nwankwo said, "I want to appreciate the association for finding me worthy, this award is a testament that whatever we are doing in society, people are watching. This award will spur me to do more. 

I also want to appreciate my brother from another mother, comrade Patrick Godwin Erhugba, a.k.a. Ikurusu, we have come a long way, we started from nothing, but today, it is another story. I can say that we are children of grace, he added.

DTSG Shifts BECE , Reschedules Examinations Commencement Date To  Monday, June 16 By Magnus Emuji  The 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) , earlier scheduled to begin from June 9 to June 13 for both public and private secondary schools in Delta State has been shifted to a new date . A statement from the Functioning Permanent Secretary in Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Mr. Daniel Akiri, on behalf of the State Commissioner for Secondary Education, Mrs. Rose Ezewu said that the would now commence from June 16 to June 20. Edwin Clark dies at 97 Former Federal Commissioner for Information and South-South Leader, Edwin Clark, is de@d. According to a statement released by his family, the chairman of the Pan Niger Delta Forum, PANDEF died on Monday night,February 17. He was 97 years old.  The statement read,  “The Clark-Fuludu Bekederemo family of Kiagbodo Town, Delta State, wishes to announce the passing of Chief (Dr.) Sen. Edwin Kiagbodo Clark OFR, CON on Monday 17th February , 2025.’’ Born in Kiagbodo, in the Ijaw area of what is now Delta State, late Clark attended primary and secondary schools at Effurun, Okrika and Afugbene before completing further studies at the Government Teacher Training College, which later became Delta State University, Abraka. Thereafter, he worked briefly as a school teacher before traveling abroad to earn a law degree.
