Building Material Traders Association Marks 32nd Anniversary with Awards Ceremony.

 The Building Materials Traders Association (BMTA) has celebrated its 32nd anniversary and held an end-of-year awards ceremony at Okpe Hall, Olympia in Sapele, Delta State on Saturday, December 9th, 2023.
 The event, held under the distinguished chairmanship of Hon. Lazarus Asakitikpi attracted prominent personalities from various sectors.
The highlight of the occasion was the presentation of Awards to deserving individuals who have made significant contributions to their respective fields. Among the awardees were notable figures such as Chief Ikechukwu Nwankwo, CEO of IK Motors, Chief Titus Ezewuzie, popularly known as Eze Ndi Igbo, CSP Harrison Nwaobuisi (DPO Sapele Police Division)  and Chief Leo Okonkwo. 
Others are Chief Festus Pemu, Mr. Felix Agbavwie, Comrade Patrick Godwin Erhugba, a.k.a Ikurusu, Mr Earnest Ekedama, Engr. Isaac Chukwuana Ikem and Lady (Mrs.) Rachael Akpobi. 
  The awards were a token of appreciation for their outstanding achievements and positive impact on the community.
The Chairman of the occasion, Honorable Lazarus Asakitikpi, who commended the Building Materials Traders Association for their commitment to the growth and development of Sapele, emphasized the importance of recognizing and celebrating the efforts of individuals who contributed to the progress of society. He also appreciated the President General for the initiative, and bringing people together in unity to celebrate. 
In his speech, the President of the Building Materials Traders Association, Comrade Patrick Godwin Erhugba, a.k.a Ikurusu expressed his delight at the presence of distinguished guests and highlighted the association's journey since its establishment in 1991. He acknowledged the founding members, including Chief Stephen Olise and Mr. Edmond Igwilo, who played pivotal roles in the association's formation.
Late High Chief Mike O. Ikem, who led the association from 2009 until his demise, was also recognized for his contributions to its stabilization. Comrade Patrick Godwin Erhugba, popularly known as Ikurusu, succeeded Chief Mike O. Ikem and has since worked tirelessly to transform the association into a thriving entity. Under his leadership, the BMTA has prioritized the welfare of its members and fostered a sense of unity and cooperation.
President Erhugba emphasized the association's slogan, "Together We Build," and highlighted the importance of members looking out for each other's interests. He has instilled a culture of support amongst members, ensuring that every financial member feels a sense of belonging.

The Building Materials Traders Association has become a prominent force within the Sapele community, with strong ties to various local government arms. Their commitment to progress and their positive impact on the community has earned them recognition and respect.
As the event concluded, the Vice President expressed gratitude to all attendees for their support and participation. He acknowledged Almighty God for the association's achievements and prayed for continued blessings upon all members and their families.
